Lewis & Clark Coin & Currency Collection – Commemorative & Historic Set

In August 1803, following the Louisiana Purchase, the United States embarked on westward expansion. Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, along with nearly three dozen men, Sacagawea, and her infant son, led an 8,000-mile expedition.

They faced numerous dangers to establish relations with Native American tribes and contributed to science by mapping new territories and collecting plant and animal specimens.

Their two-year expedition is considered one of the most successful in U.S. history, with only one man lost. This set commemorates President Jefferson, Lewis and Clark, and the Native Americans who aided them on this pivotal journey.
